I had wild blue internet before I got cable in my area. It was OK for speed but compared to now having cable if I ever paid that much for internet again I'd take the 'ol 12 gauge to the dish. I did have problems with their billing and accounting. They mis-billed me several times and it took MONTHS to get it straightened out. Their equipment also failed a little over a year in and I had to pay a big service call that took weeks because they "didn't have a contractor in my area." I had to bitch like hell but they finally gave me free dial-up until it was fixed. They were just simply going to let me sit. I'm not sure if it's just wild blue's fault but even if it drizzled slightly I dropped the IP. That pissed me off more than anything. My direcTV dish at the time NEVER dropped a picture but the net was out if it drizzled. So I guess all in all if I had another option I would definitely take it over wild blue. I hope that helps!

Any satellite internet provider is a poor choice unless it is the only choice…
They all have similar issues…
FAP caps, latency issues and weather fade issues…
A client of mine just got great news…
They can drop the satellite because Comcast is running a line down their right of way, finally!
The cost of the build out was over 10k if they wanted the line for themselves…
I have been trying to convince Comcast for the last 5 years to run the line…
There are at least 50 people who will sign up who live in the area.

Not sure about that provider but hughes is giving me fits, they have my error logs a complete mess. They keep looking for files that do not exist. Relative URL's and the images served up through the forum top the list. All images uploaded are served through a single php file like this file.php?id=12345. This way you can control what files people have access to, for example if you upload a file in a PM only you or the recipient can download it or if one is uploaded to a private forum only those with access to the forum can download it. It's stored on the server with no extension with a big long string as a filename so between that and some other security precautions it's practically impossible to gain access to files that have been uploaded you don't have rights for. It's sent as regular file complete with original filename, so I have 100's of requests from hughes IP's for someimage.jpg but there is no file named like that.
Well, since I retired, we only have dial up, when I was still working, I could use there system, (at work) that was nice. DSL and RoadRunner will not come to our house. Time warner wanted over $4,000.00 to hook up from 1/4 mile away and our local phone company would not even call back. So I did get the Wild Blue System. My speed is not much better than dial up at this point. I gave the installer a call, he said some thing is wrong and will be out this after noon. We will see what happens.
