With the paper mill right there, isn't wood cheaper? Whats that big harvesting company? Its been a few years since I have been there....
$289 is not bad for Blaschak. I paid $239 a ton for it, and I am 30 minutes from NEPA.
Paper mill is shut down flat for about a year now - doors closed. Split wood is going for $220 a cord. I would never go back to the mess of wood again. I put my ton of Blaschak in the basement and piled in 40 minutes. Took me all day to put Mom's 2 cord of wood in her basement and clean up the mess outside and in the basment the next day.

There must not be enough competition in the Augusta area. Blaschak is $350 a ton, last I checked, and Kimmel $320 to $330. That's not including delivery. It's $30 to $40 more than last year.

I burned both some Kimmels and Blaschak last heating season. The Blaschak was cleaper and had less junk in it.
