Smitty, if you are that unhappy with our current political balance, you could always MOVE. I can not help but notice that many
of your posts relate too, or directly address your unhappiness with MASS. So the question begs to be asked..." WHY DO YOU
LIVE HERE ?"
Though the chambers of Government here, like all states, are clearly organized in one party or another, the majority of MASS voters are INDEPENDENT. What does that tell you? How much time and money have you donated to the candidate of your choice in the
last election? You do not " find republicans" you work to get them elected. People work for and support a candidate because
they like them and what they stand for. I am sure Charley Baker would appreciate some help in the up coming governors race.
He will have my full support, both personally and financially. Aside from bemoaning and berating, what are you willing to do?
Democracy, contrary to currant trends, is not a spectator sport.
On another note, direct injected 2 strokes are as good as internal combustion engines get!

Find the Republican in these cities:

-Detroit Michigan, -Buffalo New York, -Cincinnati Ohio, -Cleveland Ohio, -St. Louis Missouri, -Milwaukee Wisconsin, -Philadelphia Pennsylvania, & Newark New Jersey. According to the U.S. Census Bureau these cities rank highest in poverty.

The last time Detroit (ranked #1) elected a Republican mayor was 1961 in Buffalo (ranked #2) it was 1954, Cincinnati (ranked #3) 1984.
Cleveland, Ohio 1989
St. Louis, Missouri 1949
Milwaukee, Wisconsin 1908
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 1952
Newark, New Jersey 1907

Getting the picture.

"Over the past 50 years, the eight cities listed above have had Republican leadership for a combined 36 years. The rest of the time -- a combined 364 years -- they've been led by Democrats.
Five of the 10 cities with the highest poverty rates (Detroit, Buffalo, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Newark) have had a Democratic stranglehold since at least 1961: more than 45 years. Two of the cities (Milwaukee and Newark) have been electing Democrats since the first Model T rolled off the assembly line in 1908.
Two cities, 100 years, all Democrats."

I don`t know but would be willing to bet that most if not all of the wall st. higher ups & the ceo types are almost all republicans. How about the insurance co. excutives & all the good people in the upper six figure wage brackets, not saying that they don`t earn it but I believe there is a definite patern to wealth as well as poverty & the party of choice.

I guess you haven't been to MA, Samhill.

MA is one of the wealthiest states in the union besides Cali, NY & CT. Inside the "495 belt" (eastern portion of state), you can't touch a home for under $400K. While driving around looking for a sub-$400K home, you will be cut off by at least 10 Mercedes, 7-series BMW and/or Bentley. All these people are responsible for electing all those on the previous link, year after year after depressing year.

Not surprised at all. Did you see how many social workers are also MA reps? Gotta keep their buddy's cash flow rollin' in.... Boston & Worcester have their fair share of poverty as well. You couldn't PAY ME to live in either trash-hole!

I have been up there, have a sister that lives near Hartford so I`ve spent some time in N.E. states. When your talking about the amount of money some people make it doesn`t take many to make a small state wealthy. That & the fact that there are still a lot of people living way above their means. I`ve been in houses that don`t have much at all in the way of furniture on the upper floors & a beamer sitting in the drive. The family eats beans & hotdogs on a regular basis but if they have a cook-out with their neighbors invited they grill steaks. The inner cities are the dem.s strong hold, the shore line areas are the rep.s.

That is true. You'll also find Rep's in rural towns in western MA. You won't find one Dem around my neighborhood!

That is another common theme around here -- huge mansion, 2 new cars & NO furniture! These people are just screaming for attention! I'll never understand that logic.....

Hey don't forget about good 'ole New Jersey, home of Tony Soprano. I worked in New Vernon, the single richest zip code in the US. And leave Smitty alone, anybody that overloads a new truck like he does has to be my buddy. New Jersyans bitch and moan about their state continuously too it's just what we do. Only thing about NJ is there is always work if you can afford to live here. I live under the radar and just keep trying to save for a house someplace else. There is a frantic pulse here and the population density is greater than India. I want to make a bumper sticker: Welcome to NJ, your favorite foreign country. I actually saw one that said: God Is Everywhere, (except New Jersey). Always good to get away upstate NY though. I like Republicans they give me work.
