Were are you guys getting coal in Conn and what price? I usually get it loose in my truck at House hold coal, but am wondering if there is a better deal?

I doubt you will get a better deal than Al has unless you buy big bulk.

Thanks, Al is a good guy, he is the only one I have ever used, I was just wondering if there was anyone else. It always pays to shop around.

I heard rumor about someone in the Old Saybrook area is going starting to peddle the stuff but I haven't found out anything yet. I think the mortgage on Al's place was payed off around 1920 and with 2-300 tons laying around he will have the best deal. :)

How much is House Hold Coal getting per ton? Phelps is getting $240 per ton for bulk rice coal.

It has been about a year and a half since I was there, IIRC it was $220 then.

Where is Phelps located? Last year I was paying 260/ton from Household. I gave Al a call to see what he is getting this year but have not yet heard back.

Try Richie's Coal in Meriden....he took over the coal business when Middletown Ice and Coal closed. Richie's yard is in Meriden. Last year he carried Sherman Coal....I bought bagged but he does have bulk and will deliver to certain areas............ 203 634-3534
