The Phillies are looking good. With the addition of Martinez & Cliff Lee, Phils should have the necessary starting pitching to go deep in the playoffs. There are still big questions surrounding last year's big gun closer Brad Lidge. He was pulled this week by Charlie in the ninth after he loaded the bases. Not a lock to win the World Series but I'd be very disappointed if they didn't at least get there.

I'd have to say the Phils have the nod over the Pirates. This is a no brainer.

But in football. the 2008-2009 Superbowl Champ Steelers may be as good or better than last year. The Eagles may have taken a step backwards in my opinion due in part to moves on the O line at tackle, and a rookie free safety replacing Brian Dawkins & due to a season ending injury to #55, there starting ILB Bradley Stewart. The Eagles have released two long time book ends Thomas & Runyun.

I give the nod to the Steelers. I think they are good enough to get to the AFC Champinship Game. The Eagles I believe will wind up 9-6 and maybe catch a wildcard spot or miss out all together.

I think the Eagles go all the way this year, really depends on how well Vick integrates. This will be the first year I think they truly have an offense that is a real threat, it's a threat anywhere on the field. With the addition of Vick you have a whole new dimension and knowing the way Reid likes his stunt plays you can probably expect a circus. If he gets integrated smoothly it's going to be a nightmare for the defenses on the other side. One thing I will predict is a huge amount of timeouts from opposing defenses and I also expect to see formations never seen before by the end of the season. The potential possibilities with McNabb, Westbrook and Vick all on the same field is enormous. Win or lose it's going to be fun to watch.

Sorry, left out hockey. I was a big hockey fan in the past, now I couldn't give a hoot. But I love watching the very talents skaters & shooters such as Crosby.

My prediction of the Phils going deep has come true. Let's see if they can win it all.
