There is always good advice here, and I've got almost a week with the Harman Mag Stoker and I was wondering if I could use any thermostat with it? Right now I'm running the White Rogers (?) square unit that came with it. I have a hard time seeing the set pointer, so I'd like something easier to see.
As a kid, we had the usual round Honeywell thing on the wall, would one of those work?
Also, as another idea I could go digital, and have the house get cooler at night for better sleeping, and really warm in the morning. Would one of those work?
Inside the White Rogers there is some setting that I didnt touch, but could that be some kind of delay mechansism or something that I'd need the equivilant with another thermostat?
Thanks
Better Thermostat for Harman Mag?

As a rule, almost all thermostats are interchangable if they are two wire. I think they run 18-24 volts.
The digital should work fine.
I believe the delay is called Heat Anticipator, and can adjust the length of burn time on. I doubt if you need to worry about that with a coal fire.

I believe any thermostat will work. I went and bought a 7 day (4 time zones) digital thermo that was on sale at Lowes. Think I paid like 25 bucks for it. Works well with my mag stoker.... It's got a Indiglo Light button on it..So it's east to see.
