Background State Header Image Competition

For each state forum I'll be adding and individual image to represent that state. I'm going to open this up so users can submit there images. There's no set time limit at the moment for how long I'll leave this open. Selection of which image is chosen is to be determined most likely by vote of members who reside in that state

You must own the image and have taken it yourself. Do not submit images taken by others even if it's a friend that is allowing you to use it.

By submitting the image you are granting NEPA Crossroads an irrevocable perpetual license to use it as a header image for that states forum and sub forums. If you cannot agree to these terms do not submit anything.

One thing to note is you'll need to select an image that is suitable for cropping a panoramic type view. The main background header image used here for example is taken from this must larger image:



The width is actually much larger a than most of you see because of lower resolutions on a monitor, most of you are probably only seeing half of it. This is the other half:



If you're familiar with image manipulation and wish to compile a collage or something else creative the height is 100 px, width should be about 2000px or more. Note that most people will only be seeing most of the right side.

Each state forum will have it's own thread for this so post your images there. Also note that images larger than 1200px are re-sized automatically so be sure to save the source image locally on you own computer. If you're image is selected I'll provide a way for you to send full sized version.

Pertaining to any other state's silhouette, does it have to reside on the left of the banner? It will make a difference in choosing a picture to submit. Thanks Richard.

Yes left to right but the amount viewable will depend on the resolution of the monitor. It's designed to be fluid. As the resolution increases so does the amount of viewable image.

As I said above if you have some talent and wanted to do a collage or something feel free but you'll need to work within the 100px height.

What I'm going to do is change these to "albums" from which I may pick something for the header if I like it.

Having said that I'll be asking permission to use any images posted inside these albums, they won't be used in the header without permission so if you want to post some of your work feel free.
