It's quartzite. There was an army camp at the base of the rocks during WWII and they trained troops in rock climbing there. It's a popular spot for rock climbers now. There's a trail up the front side that takes you to an overlook on the left end of the rocks.

My "fondest" memory of Massachusetts is driving through downtown Boston a number of years ago. Good grief!
Are people required to have a driver's license to drive there? I couldn't wait to get back to my 3 stop light county.

Well our governor finds it OK practice to issue licenses to illegal immigrants ... who then drive cocked & kill people .... then the governor blames drinking - NOT the illegal immigrant part. This state is so back-asswards you can't even imagine ...

Take good care of those pictures, after the Mountain Top Removal they will all be gone.
