ARE YOU READY??

PostBy: Cyber36 On: Mon Sep 14, 2009 1:36 pm

Hey fellow Ny'ers! Just a quick little poll......Here it is September 14th, & the chill is literally right around the corner. Are you ready to burn yet or not? I just had my new metal chimney installed last Friday. They "forgot" to order the baro-damper, so they have to come back. Other than that, I'm ready! BRING IT ON!! :punk:

Not even close :) Coal Newbie, purchase our Hitzler, 2 days ago have to pick it up this week, found a supplier for coal, but I still have to build a bin in the workshop, and have to find a chimney guy to reline the chimney and reduce it to 6". Time is running out for me :)

Stove is ready, but I would like to play around with the DHW coil some. Would like a little larger coil so the tank will come up to temp a bit faster. Still thinking of adding a pump to see how that would work out. May just leave it as is this year though. Still need to pick up coal for the season. Just have the 1 ton I picked up at Hudson to try out. Need to come up with a few $$$$ to make a run back down with the dump trailer to get enough for the season. Money got very tight when I was laid off in Jan. and again from April till June. We'll get it though.

Still in the 40-50's at night, no need, the house is maintaining around 60-65 without any heat so far!

Just have to hook up my pipe and fire it up when needed. Hopefully not until Oct or Nov....!

Got the Kodiak ready today. Put the grates, bricks, and hopper back in and put the stove pipe and baro damper back on.
Ready to burn whenever it gets cold enough.

My Atlanta Homesteader project stove for the cellar is also coming right along. Should be ready to go by early October.
