Interestingly enough Joe Wilson and Kanye West recently committed the same error. They were both completely rude and out of line by speaking out during speeches by honored people. In one case the jackass was white and the victim was black and in the other case the jackass was black and the victim was white.
Former US president, Jimmy Carter, without reason, called the white jackass a racist and many on the left in congress piled on. The white jackass was formally rebuked by his peers despite an immediate apology directly to the victim. His opposition colleagues feared an onslaught of racist behavior if there was no rebuke. The white jackass merely disagreed with a legislative proposal and statement by the black victim.
The black jackass delayed his direct apology to the victim until pressured by the public. The black jackass was correctly called a jackass by the black victim in the parallel case who happens to be the president of the US. The white jackass was incorrectly called a racist by a former white president of the US. However, no one has called the black jackass a racist who during his rude act, clearly supported a black colleague over a competing white colleague which is the only factor that might lead anyone to conclude racism, though it would be a stretch.
The way I see it they are both jackasses but neither are racists. The media didn't call Joe Wilson a racist. Is congress and Jimmy Carter that stupid?
