the 351 clevand or windsor valve cover can be sealed without the right stuff but they need to be straight to begin with and spreader arms used and torqued slow and even while praying and doing the no-leak dance!!

Well yes it is true the right stuff has a gorilla grip for sure. instead of the factory o-ring around the base of caddy's cylinder sleeves even the dealer uses the right stuff as did I and when it had to come out the next morning after my tech realized they sent the wrong size sleeve, it wouldnt. massive pry bars and 3 guys had several hours struggle to pop the sleeve out of the block. it was a reality check tho of its real ability!!
