DHW Coil Placement in Pocono

Quick question - saw a post in the archive that a DHW coil in a Leisure Line Pocono should be 6-8" above the fire.

Does anyone know at what height Jerry (LL) drills the coil holes at the factory? That will ease my guessing. THanks.

Yes, 6" to 8" is fine.

Jerry, is that 6-8 above the typical flame or the coal bed? Would you expect similiar effectiveness if it was plumbed vertically like in TdiDave's pics above?

how many BTU's , roughly does a dhwc use ?????? just courious
