Obama defends Olympic trip to Denmark

Obama will lead a delegation that includes first lady Michelle Obama, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, Education Secretary Arne Duncan, Oprah Winfrey and others.

Oprah Winfrey???

Just when I think I have seen it all.....

With he preoccupation with health care I'm surprised he can spare the time.

What about the War On Terror? What about Iraq? What about Afghanistan? What about all the fathers, sons, mothers, daughters in harm's way fighting for our freedom and security as a nation? Shouldn't that be our President's first priority?

This man is a pathetic excuse for a President.

Later today Mark Levin will have the list of every person killed in combat up on his website, killed in the 9 months since Obama was sworn in. He has been avoiding strategic decisions on the war effort in favor of becoming a world traveler and blathering on endlessly about this healthcare *censored*.

I hardly think they will be flying coach on jet blue, he might just have an idea or two about whats going on. Now as to why they want the olympics anywhere in this country now with the economy the way it is I`ve hardly a clue. And in Chicago to boot, they should be ashamed of what that & most other major cities have been allowed to digress to.

You had better be careful about Jet Blue cracks, Greg L.S Farm is a pilot for Jet blue.
Let Obama go to Denmark, The longer he stays there the less damage he can do here. :hammer:

No quarrel with you there, I agree. This has gone on too long, too many of our own killed. It should have been top priority for our government then and it should be now. I don't like the way this whole operation has been handled, but I'm sure there is a lot I don't know about.

We should just let the Spaniards, the Japanese, and the Brazilians have the Olympics. Why would we want to bring billions of dollars of tourist money to the US.

Look there's lots of stuff to be *censored* at Obama about, but this is not one of those issues.

This is like the democrats who got *censored* at Bush for vacationing in Texas so much.

It's been a negative revenue for the host cities for a long time.

Chicago, like LA, is filled with stadiums. Smaller cities with no existing venues or infrastructure, and no use for venues or infrastructure after the games get in trouble.

Besides, it's the local merchants that make the profits (you know, the private sector) not the government.

I understand your point, conservative talk radio was fixated on this yesterday and today. Even though it is not a major issue in the "big picture" it indicates to me where Obama's priorities lie.

Did we (meaning the USA) really need Obama to do this? There was no one else who could handle such an important undertaking, so important that it required the President of the United States to personally attend to it?

Remember every time the President boards Air Force One he is taking a risk. If there was to be some kind of unfortunate mishap or accident Obama would be President no more. Hmmmmm....President Biden....kind of has a nice ring to it.

I feel this trip was a poor decision as well as a waste of (our) money.

I feel this President has his priorities all wrong.

And where the hell does Oprah figure into all of this???

If there is any justice & common sense at all on the olympic board I would think that Brazil would be the front runner, there has never been one in S.America & their economy is not hurting. The games never make money except for the big money people, after all the tax dollars have been spent & the show is over a little job creation period is over & the city is left with a huge white elephant.

George Bush took 77 trips to Crawford Texas (for vacation) while he was in office.

Was that a waste of our money too?
