Thank you very much for all the assistance by the members here. Was a fun project. Ive only owned this 9 days. Was a Craigs list purchase, and a good deal. My dad helped a lot by sandblasting while I was working. It was definitely a fun and rewarding project. I hope to fire it tomorrow. Gotta go and get a couple pieces of black pipe to finish the install in my garage.

I think it came out well. I hope the SS bolts assit in removal for end of season cleanings.

A few misc. pictures. I (my dad is putting on some paint in the picture) put the brush on high heat rustoleum on the body. Used scotch bright on the top and sides to smoth the finish the re-painted with the rattle can of high heat. Went together real easy. Cant wait to fire it. Hope to run it all year. My garage is finished, 30' x 50' it had an oil forced air furnace until today.

Except for the elec motors which are working and sound fine, it's all new.

Sandblasting really makes a big difference! The wire wheel on my Magnum Stoker restore was a PITA!

Thank you and yeah, the sand blasting was a huge time saver. Well off to an overpriced store :shock:

to get a few pieces of duct so I can fire it.

Well, the test fire went well. It lit on the first try (good sign

) and worked just like it was supposed to. In speaking with Jerry of Leisure Line on the phone he said I would be impressed with the heat output he was right. I ran the stove for six hours at highest feed rate I could get without pushing hot coals off the end of the grate. I was able to get about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of ash before the end of grate. Stove performed great, very pleased. I did notice that the feeder motor arm raises when under a load. I will assume a bearing is starting to go but will try to learn more about it.

Now I just have to wait for the cold weather to get here and see if it can heat it up. Thank you again for the help and comments.

looks perfect! SOunds like you have it almost "Dialed In" for optimum burning.

Yes, sometimes the plate moves up a bit, the plate or the pusher rod/bearing may not be perfectly level/even....as long as it's going back and forth, should work fine!

Once in while, You may hear a crunching or scraping sound when you get fines or small pieces caught under the grate, I have just dropped the motor down and move the plate back and forth by hand while pushing down and usually cleans it out. Be careful, you can push the fire off the grate if you push it too much. I have done it while it's burning, but not recommended.

Another Trick, sometimes you will get fines out from under the grate onto the motors, I had to put a cover over the combustion blower, since the fines for falling directly on the motor and can cause it fail if it gets into the bearings/shaft.

I will keep an eye on the feeder shovel for sure. I like the fan cover idea, did the cover restrict the pulling of fresh air to push to the grate? What material did you use on the cover? Sheet metal?

I just put a small piece of sheet metal or equal (just enough to cover the combustion motor Top) leave it open all around it, not to cover the entire motor or anything. Just enough to deflect any fines (if you have them kicking out from the pusher plate).

You may not even have the problem. Only one of my burners has the problem, the other is fine, go figure. Sometimes it just needs a good cleaning under the plate and you won't have the problem. Since yours is all clean and new, you may not even have the problem.
