Any Leaf peepers out there? The leaf colors are at their peak here in the Adirondack Mountains. I am in NW area of the mountains. Not sure if the entire park is peak or not. Red is particularly spectacular this year.

Bodee here.grizzly2 wrote:Hello fellow New Yorkers I know you are here in the coal forums. This is a good opportunity to see who lives in our area and be able to compare notes on a variety of topics, heating and otherwise. Hope you all drop by this forum soon, it is kinda lonely here right now.
Heat with a Chaffee boiler in Cuba, NY. Bought the house in 95 , oil back up. Lived here for about 19 boiler never did work right always over heating, zones not opening, ciculator not kicking on with rooms up to temp. Nefew came last year to trout fish checked it out, ( He's is Electric E,. for Penn state). He said this thing would never work right no how, spent about 3 hours rewiring. never over heated once this year never had turned my oil on yet ( he rewired so can shut off oil burner off) but cic. pump still run.
Now the auto damper doesn't work order a new one from here from Comfort heat. To change, now the question to change out damper where treads into cast boiler, some said thought the cast iron has to be warm or cold couldn't remember. ( with steel going into cast iron). I'm here most of day so working the damper like a wood stove adjusting as need.
Thanks, Bodee

Greetings,
I'm a newbie, living in Upstate NY most of my life. I live south of Syracuse and north of Binghamton.
Pretty dark, cold and gray as is usually the case this time of year. I have an Alaska Stoker that's been idle a long time and I have just begun working on a Geneva Andes 417. Looking forward to hearing from members here in general, New Yorkers as well as anybody else.
