Looks like it is in nice condition. I am curious how these beasts work. How does the coal feed and burn in these?

Good lookin unit. Wish I had a job, I'd build new Outbuilding to store my coal pile in, and hook one of these up with buried Pex-al-pex to a heat exchanger in the house's air handler. Oh I can dream.....

I'm dreaming of a new Royall stoker with a heat exchanger.

The AA on Ebay is the real deal. I corresponded with the gentleman and it's a retirement hobby. First class rebuild, probably better than a new one. I've had mine for over 30 years and they don't look as pretty as this one, however I burn them 24/7-365 so they don't have time to go to "Stoker Shows".
Like EFM , AHS, GJ, Keystoker, Royall, Harmon, Leisure Line, Alaska...they are built for the long haul, 60 years, perhaps more. First class welding job, excellent steel to start with, simple components and off the shelf parts for the most part.

When is the last time you could but a rebuilt anything 50 years old and use it for another 50 with only minor servicing.
Not in the automotive industry, appliances, heavy equipment...

Just be careful folks, no coil and no pressure test, seems kinda expensive! ;)

I think it says there was a 40 psi test done. However it never hurts to ask to see the test or request one. :!:

I love my AA-130. It really does look nice, better than a new one.
Listen to Matthaus though, he knows.

Can you tell if it has that "Rebiuld" stamp? What was that, the "H" stamp?

The "H" is the ASME stamp. That's kind of like "UL approved".

Yup, looks nice, but hard to know how much steel is left...might last another 50 yrs, might last the week. Seems kinda pricey.

Stoker Coal Boiler: Axeman Anderson 1982 AA-130 Steam

I don't know. This guy talks a little too much about the paint. The paint should be the last thing, in my mind, that would influence somebody to buy this. Looks to have been set up for steam so there should be plugs or components where the sight glass elbows go. No low water cutoff? They are expensive. The motor looks like an antique capacitor start(could be original) that he could have replaced for about $100. Over spray. The last few pictures show the parts before and after painting, too bad they are not the same as the ones on the unit. The door on the unit for sale has the little breather port, where the before and after pictures don't. What's the deal with the shipping bracket? I made one out of angle iron in about 5 minutes. It's gonna smell real bad when this gets fired up because it's not all high temp paint. Why paint the grate? For the price he's asking, I would want a new motor, water coil, all stainless hardware, delivery , installation, guarantee, etc, etc. I'm just being picky though. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Don't think so. It could be devil up to some 'stoker tricks'. With teddy gone and barney all primped up, smitty may be headed north! This unit would look pretty at the fair circuit though. Nothing better than burning paint.......lots of burning paint.

Fire this one up in the basement and the 'good ole' hook and ladder boys' will be taking you away in the white coat with no sleeves.

I hope it turns out well for everyone, this isn't the first post on ebay. Looks a lot better than that "BONE" AA130 for sale in Maine last winter/spring. Junk is junk, but as matteus says, no need to scrap a perfectly good unit. Surface rust is nothing to worry about, but the guts are a different story.

Chris. R U finishing the bin this month?
