Anyone with a VF3000, can you measure the longest side without the hopper, that's the only dimension I couldn't find in the online manual. I see it's like 47"+ with the hopper, but just need to know the smaller footprint (Without anything attached) dimensions to see if it will fit down my stairs.
basically the right side (As shown in pic) to where the hopper/stoker would mount.
I know the base and everything can come apart. Also, would this heat a 2500 sq. ft house. I would like to put in at least 3-4 zones for comfort.

See attached.
Thanks ALL

That would be 31" without the hopper.

the weight is 915 lbs but that is fully assembled.
the boiler alone with out the stoker and hopper I would estimate ballpark 650 lbs

I have a 2500sgft ranch and I am only running it at 60% capacity and no problem but I am located at long Island, NY so it dosen't get really cold here.

alot depends on how well your house is insulated .

I ran Oct to may then changed it over to burn oil for the summer.
I used 4 tons of coal for the winter .

Thanks. that should fit. I have around 32" thru the door. I have a local dealer that has 2.
Yes, I have good windows (Double pane, UV and argon), pretty good insulation (Blown in walls/attic).
Just have to do some plumbing...since we have nothing to start with.
Plus we don't get it extremely warm, around 68 or so most of the time. I am running 2 stoves now, but want to eventually sell them and just run one boiler if possible. Do you use the oil just for the Domestic hot water.?

I have 120 gal solar hot water system but it only does about 80% of my needs for DHW .
so I convert the VF3000 to burn oil for the summer because it would be idling most of the time burning coal.
I used 80 gal of oil may-oct for DHW. plus it is nice getting a break from ASH DUTY

here is a link to pictures of my boiler:

Interesting, I wonder if you could convert to Natural Gas? That would be the perfect solution for me, without having to add another gas boiler.

I don't think there is a natural gas option for the VF3000.
but you could install a 275gal tank and buy the oil burner option for the VF3000.
oil burner option is around $650.00

the best thing about doing it with one boiler is it is always hot so no rusting problems
and half the maintenance.

check out my ash removal idea while your waiting for your VF3000

Unique Way to Remove Ashes From a VF3000 Boiler

works very well, I used it last season and I'll use it again this next season.
makes it a little easier.
