I don`t really know what you mean by that mike&gerry. Just trying to say what someone elses reason for awarding the N.P.P. is bringing out so much anamosity toward someone that had nothing at all to do with it.

Sadly, the Obama Hysteria Gang never quite learned from their parents the concept of "If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything". When Dems were questioning every move of Bush, we were called traitors, and unpatriotic, and it was often suggested that if we don't like it, we should move.

It's funny now that the shoe is on the other foot, the same party of red doesn't quite see their ranting in the same light. Instead, they continue to jump the shark, continue to show the vast majority of Americans how out of touch they really, and thus move themselves a little deeper into the fringe of no return. It's not even bothering with them at this point for the most part because they got themselves enough rope to hang themselves without any assistance from anyone else.

Talk about calling the kettle black. Just what "vast majority of Americans are you talking about? I see that this past election split the country pretty near right smack down the middle. What was it? 48 to 52%? Yeah your guy won the election but not with any mandate for the extreme changes being pushed down our throats except in the minds of his followers. That 48 % of the country is the group you so fondly refer to as "wingnuts" and we are awake now. Yes, elections have consequences and we will be paying for this one for a long, long time. As for being "out of touch they really are, and thus move themselves a little deeper into the fringe of no return. It's not even bothering with them at this point for the most part because they got themselves enough rope to hang themselves without any assistance from anyone else" you may want to check your sources of information because if you are only depending on the main stream media to give you the truth you are badly misinformed; but then I'm assuming you are open to looking for the truth.

I am amazed that you would even put this statement in your reply - "never quite learned from their parents the concept of "If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything". I can't count the number of your postings that refer to almost half of the population of the forum as wingnuts or worse. I get that number from the recent "how do you lean politically" posting on the forum; it too is split almost 50/50 right vs. left.

For the live of me I can't figure out why you would defend the immoral, anti American actions of Obama and the Democrats in Congress but notice, I never once called you a name. Can you do the same thing? Lisa

Oh yeah, I am still waiting for a reply to my question on why you feel the need to have Big Brother take care of you and in all aspects of your life. If I've missed that reply please send me the link so I can stop wondering about it.

This is just off the top of my head but they can mostly be wrapped up in the blatant disregard for the Constitution. Yes, that pesky little document.

1. The federal government take over of private businesses. How do you like being a share holder in GM? Think you’ll ever see that money again?
2. The attempt to federalize health care. Show me where Health care is even mentioned in the Constitution. That makes it a state matter.
3. Establishment of a shadow government without congressionally mandated concurrence. 34 Czars, give me a break. Who are they, why are they qualified and who pays for them?
4. Placing an individual who knew and did not report the statutory rape of a 15 year boy in charge of the Federal "safe school" office. The individual's own notes confirm this.
5. Spending 20 years in the congregation of a blatant racist. That is immoral to me.
6. Putting a gag order out on Aetna Insurance when they tried to tell their subscribers of the problems with the proposed Health Care plan.

Again when is enough enough. And that doesn't even get to the upcoming fight on illegal immigration or the proposed censorship of the Media through the so called Fairness Doctrine. Oh yeah, how about going around Congress to put in place EPA regulations that would never have a chance if it come to a vote in Congress. And how about Congress "setting the compensation" of managers of high profile companies? It won’t stop there. Oh yeah, continuing to require the children of poor families to attend failing public schools because the politicians owe the teacher's unions even when a viable working program exists to change the status quo. The list goes on but if you can't see what's right before you then nothing I say is going to change your mind.

Don’t get me wrong – the Republicans have their immoral issues, too. That’s why I’m not a Republican, either. I am a conservative. I vote for those who most reflect my views on issues.

To his credit, Obama himself said he did not deserve this award. You libs can cluck and crow all you want but Obama hasn't done a G.D. thing to earn the award. If he has, I'd like to see the list. And yes, you should move to Norway. :P

Let's not forget that GM came begging, hat in hand, for the money. If the government bailed them out without taking part ownership, people would complain about the "giveaway". If the government did not bail them out, people would complain of all the jobs they could have saved, but didn't.
lowfog01 wrote:2. The attempt to federalize health care. Show me where Health care is even mentioned in the Constitution. That makes it a state matter.

Most insurance where I live, Maine, is with Aetna, headquartered in Connecticut. That makes it interstate commerce, a federal matter. (Weak, I admit. I have my own reservations about overuse of the commerce clause of the constitution.) However, I didn't hear Republicans in the Reagan-Bush-Bush administrations clamoring to shut down Medicare or the interstate highway system on constitutional grounds.
lowfog01 wrote:3. Establishment of a shadow government without congressionally mandated concurrence. 34 Czars, give me a break. Who are they, why are they qualified and who pays for them?
Sorry, I don't know exactly what you are referring to. I think it is called "management" -- the president can't personally oversee every agency, so it makes sense to delegate.
lowfog01 wrote:4. Placing an individual who knew and did not report the statutory rape of a 15 year boy in charge of the Federal "safe school" office. The individual's own notes confirm this.
Sorry, again I am not familiar with this case. I wonder if there is more than one side to the story? At any rate, I doubt there are constitutional issues involved.
lowfog01 wrote:5. Spending 20 years in the congregation of a blatant racist. That is immoral to me.
If blacks had enslaved whites for hundreds of years in this country, and marginalized us for a hundred more, you and I might be engaging in some backlash ourselves. You are correct, it doesn't make it right, but it makes it understandable.
lowfog01 wrote:6. Putting a gag order out on Aetna Insurance when they tried to tell their subscribers of the problems with the proposed Health Care plan.
Once more I plead total ignorance of the whole story. How did the administration go about quashing Aetna's freedom of speech? Did the Post Office refuse to deliver a company mailing? Did Congress pass some resolution telling them to shut up? Would I get the full unvarnished truth if I listened more to Rush?

I usually understand both sides of an argument, but there are time when "logic" of some persons escape me...

There is one thing that "sticks in my craw" to this day:
And that is the action of ROBERT GIBBS having the temerity to ANSWER ONLY PRE-SCREENED QUESTIONS in press conference...
I would not call that immoral BUT IT CERTAINLY FLIES IN THE FACE OF AMERICANISM

It also puts GIBBS high on my list of losers...and again gives me second thoughts about OBAMA'S JUDGMENT

I would be very surprised if Gibbs makes it through four years...

I never said he did deserve it. I put out my own hypothesis indicating I believed it may be in anticipation of what he said he would do.

It is nice to see the Taliban and the far right side of the republican party (along with Limbaugh, Beck, Steele, and the other buffoons who claim to be the voice of them) finally agree on something. That alone says wonderful things about their shared goals and ideals. And Michael Steele trying to make money off the whole thing is almost comedic.
