I have sinned! I need forgiveness and closure

PostBy: 009to090 On: Mon Oct 12, 2009 5:44 pm

Oh, I feel so dirty now :fear:

I got a job today. Rewiring a house is all I was told. I get on site, and I''m given a pile of new electrical components to install; new recepticals, switches, exterior and interior lights, exhaust fans, and.....

new ELECTRIC Baseboard Heaters! :eek2: :fear: :eek2: :fear: :eek2:
Can you forgive a guy for trying to make a buck?
Well, I went ahead and installed everything I could, The electric baseboard heaters were the Hydronic type, they seem pretty efficient, but still ELECTRIC! I talked to the owner about coal, trying to put my 2 cents in. He was insterested, but not very mechanical. They have a wood stove that they have never used.

Once I got home, I went and played with the coal stove, just to get the bad smell of electric off my hands.

:D

AFAIK no more efficient than standard electric baseboard. You just get a more even heat.

Fawgeddaboudit. Ya dint put it in yer own house did ya? Be careful about broadcasting it to everybody, without an NJ Electrician's license you could be fined $10,000 and sit in jail for 1-1/2 yrs........ or, if you so much as hang a picture in somebody's house without a NJ State Contractor's licence, same thing.

OOPS ---Sorry, I didn't know what I was talking about. I think that's the fine for 2nd. ammendment issues....

Wow!! that is stiff, here in Mass the inspector would just throw you off the job if he caught you. At least i've never heard of any fines.

Do they have winter where you installed electric? Is electric amazingly cheap in this area? Here in MA, I can not conceive of
anybody installing electric heat for anything. The cost to run it would be STUPID expensive.

Yup...probably 200 a month and up from there. Only slum-lords would do that around here.

Careful about what you post, the IRS is probably watching this site for all the tradin', dealin' and hoodwinkin' goin' on.
Never mention money, Stoker Scott says he is familiar with the 'Hearts' currency. I think it involves a form of renumeration for specific services. He said something about 3 hearts per hour, whatever that means....  :o :x   :inlove: :nono:

I've burned coal for about 30 years, but during a remodel this year I
replaced the electric based board heaters. We use it only as a going away backup.
Didn't feel bad at all. The new bright white units look pretty good. They'll never
be turned on, but they look good.

I have a nice new Lennox forced hot air oil furnace that never gets used as well (except for the blower) the oil burner has about 1 hour run time on it.
