I just bought a Gibraltar cfs and need to know how much of the gasget on the door should be removed for the air wash. The manual shows it is on the top of the door but does not show how much. The previous owner used it for wood and replaced the entire thing. As I burn coal I would like the door to stay clean.
Thanks for any help

There is no outside fan air wash system on any Gibraltar stove the door gasket should go all the around 1/2 round gasket
the glass will only get flyash on it burning coal wood will make it black from the creosote in it.
When using the coal banking bar inside the front of stove there is a space between the front grate yoke & coal banking bar where the extra coal gases burns off that helps keeping the glass cleaned . but you will still get a little flyash on the glass.
I use a damp cloth with water to wipe it down every few days do it betwen coal fills while the door is opend the glass will be cool enough until your ready to shut the door after filling .
