These guys like to sit on the branch that the feeder hangs from....
I have a movie of one sitting there during a snow fall, he was there about 20 minutes, all the while getting more and more covered with snow...

There's a pair that nest in the tree right by my house. I watch them grow up every year. One day I was sitting on the ramp watching them looking to the left. Out of the corner of my eye to the right something catches my attention. I look and it was one of the adults with a snake in this talons. Thing flew about 20 feet in front of me. Was pretty cool. Haven't seen any chimpmucks in a long time. lol

There was a Cooper hawk that terrorized my chicken flock one summer. It was taking a couple chicks a day. I finally saw him do it one day. Then he didn't ;)

Recently, we were out motoring slowly on a back road in the countryside when a hawk [don't know my hawks as I should] dived like a rock and landed on the edge of the road 30ft ahead. He immediatedly took off again with a huge snake in his talons. He had about 4inches of snake between his talons and 8 or 10 inches hanging down from each talon. Most impressive piece of nature I have seen in a long time. Mike
