Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: Harman ST8-VF8 / Frankenstove

Post by Horace » Sat. Oct. 17, 2009 12:00 am

The stoker that I have is pretty old. I'm wondering if I should worry about cleaning the path that the distribution air takes through the stove. Considering how much ash/dust/hair gets stuck on the blower grill and the fins of the fan, I have to conclude that there's a significant build-up within the stove itself.

Does anyone do this and, if so, how? I doubt compressed air would do it - probably need some sort of snake and a way to keep the dislodged debris from blowing all over the place.

Any thoughts/advice?

Have never tried it but have thought about it!!
I don't believe much will get trapped in there because the steel is smooth. But have thought about using one of those drier lint brushes that you use in the area below the lint trap.
