value for a used stokermatic?

Local craiglist has a used Stokermatic in working condition and a second one for spare parts.

What would something like this be worth?

They are still manufacture under a new name. Depending on the model I would say a pretty penny as there are two units, just look at the prices for new ones.
Quite often these things don't move and wind up in a scrap yard. Sometimes you can get them cheap, is there a posted price?

$200.00, I should go look at this for a friend of mine who lives near the Bit mines in middlesboro.

for two hundred, buy it or I will. when energy prices go up again these things will be worth their weight in gold. currently, if you can find them, they're usually going between $300-$800 depending on condition. the people that want them, although few and far between, are willing to pay considerably more.

To be able to burn Bituminous coal which is usually about 1/3 the cost of Anthracite, burn it cleanly in a stoker which will require much less tending than a hand feed, and be MUCH cleaner.

I'd buy it to play with if it was closer to me !!

Berlin, how often do you remove clinkers and fill the hopper in your Stoker-furnace ?? Obviously it depends on the weather, but in cold weather, say highs of 20* and lows 10*, do you have to tend the stoker more than once in the AM and once in the PM? Or even that much ??

Thanks, Greg L
