I got your attention anyway, Mike. I'm about 475 from your supplier and in an easy spot to get to, so I'm listening.
I know the PA trucks run legal, and are well maintained.....cheaper than a hassle from the DOT guys in any state you travel in. Keep the log books handy, just in case. Over the years, I haven't heard of one issue with the coal haulers I have been using. :eek2:   :alone:

Nice to see you have a sense of humor too!

This spring I will be looking for 22 tons but I would like to know if you can get coal from another source, say U.A.E. or Superior I would understand that the price would be different since all coal is not the same price. Also I'm a bit further from you than 400 miles, say more like 600 miles.
Also if your ever out to deliver in the south/western lower Michigan or north/western upper Indiana I know a guy that will let you sleep over for free, hot shower, hot home cooked meal, he even has a view of Garver lake. Sure I know the guy....it's me, lol.
I like helping a fellow coal burner/hauler.

My buddy had Stockton coal he bought. Before I was going to order some I asked for a 5 gal pail of some. Was middle of winter. Emptied the hopper to the push plate. Dumped the Stockton coal in. After about 2 hours or so of burning it , I lost about 5 degrees in the house. The coal could not put the heat out that the Blashchak was putting out. The thing I noticed was their coal is all the same size in rice. I mean the same size. The bed was so tight , no air could move from underneath it. Had a flame at 3 or 4 inches high. With the Blashchak the flame is dancing of the top of the stove. Their coal is all differnt sizes in rice. Gets more air through it. If I was getting some I would mix it with some buckwheat , 50/50 and see if that helps before I bought alot of it. This was my experiance with it. I'm not trying to rain on your parade.

I hear ya man... no problem.. I been doing this for over 15 years now.. my father has been doing this for over 38 years.. I heard it all... There are 2 coal breakers in Stockton Pa... Stockton Anthracite and Stockton Shaft.. Stockton Anthracite is where I purchase it from.. they just reopened this year.. I don't usually purchase my rice from them.. I mostly buy the bigger stuff, like Pea, Nut and Stove.. Jeddo and Millfall mines is where I get most of my rice.. thanks

Mikey,
My zip is 18661 - White Haven. But I'm in Bear Creek. What would you charge to deliver 2 ton of good quality nut? What is the nut size, is it consistent? What brand?
Thanks, Fran

Well, you have caught my attention! I'll have to give you guys a call.

There isn't any dealers in the Pittsburgh area that sell any rice coal in bulk. From the prices that you have quoted here, you are probably about what it costs to buy Reading buckwheat or nut in bulk, without the local delivery charge. How does this coal compare to the Reading that I've been burning all of these years?

Mikey,

Do you deliver smaller loads than 22 ton? Do you have a scissor truck with shutes to deliver into basement coal bins? We are in Eastern CT and burn a total of 20+ tons per season but can only take 7 max at one time. We used to get our nut coal from John Sandry from Shamokin. The nut coal he brought was low light ash with high btu, I thought him saying from Jeddo. We are 254 miles from you.
