Hi there. I have a blackberry and I was wondering if there was a blackberry app for this website so I can have an icon on my phones homepage. Thanks

I've never owned a cellular phone or any of those devices. <gasp> I'm probably going to purchase one though just for testing sites.

I don't see why you would need a application to save a shortcut which is what you are asking?

I've checked it on a few phones and devices and it looked pretty good.

Ahh, did a little research and I see you can't do that, seems a little odd.

Google returns this as a way to do it:

http://www.brighthub.com/mobile/blackbe ... 15763.aspx

---------------------------------

I could build one as per these directions, seems quite simple:

However,
BlackBerry Developer Signing Keys ($20 bucks from BlackBerry, millions of signatures)

I have to hand over $20 to them just so people can create a shortcut to my website? That should be feature they already have. These damn cell phone comapnies have their hands in everyone's cookie jar.

Mind you, I don't own a cell phone, but I heard on the radio that is you bought every "app" there is you'd pay about $150,000 for them! I guess there's 75,000 apps, at two dollars each, there ya go! Man...they sure know how to make money! They also mentioned in Europe when you get cell service, it comes with all the text, pics & whatever you want. It's only here in the USA that they charge extra for each little thing.

I don't know if you misunderstood but if I bought the $20 license I could write the app and allow people to download it. I wouldn't have to charge anyone anything. The issue is to do that I have to pay Blackberry $20. It's like a computer manufacturer charging a software vendor $20 so they can make software. It's only $20 but it's the principal.

That's why the ISP's and cell phone providers are fighting net neutrality tooth and nail. They want a chunk of everything.

You can definitely view the site on a blackberry. I did this just the other day. Unfortunately it is very hard to read anything on my "Pearl".
