You AK guys have got the best land in the country, but the trade-off with the cold is something I couldn't handle! WOW! We don't hit those temps here until mid-late January .... if at all!
Was up there in 1969-70 USAF Anchorage, TDY's to Fairbanks in December, -46°F and ice fog. nuttin like it!SMITTY wrote:...... the cold is something I couldn't handle! WOW! We don't hit those temps here until mid-late January .... if at all!

Ugh! 60 degrees here today. Ive had the windows and most times the door open since Nov 1st.
The good news "Knock on wood" is I haven't had any jams.
I think im getting the hang of this but it was a steeper learning curve then I would have thought.

I gave in & fired up last night ....... there's only so much a man can take!
67° in here now vs. 60°- 62° before, plus the coils are keeping the oil burner OFF!

Yep -- no more drips or multi-directional geysers!
Took a little persistence, but it paid off in the end. My boiler water is at 220° now.

Yeah, if the indirect boiler kicks on I'll have to be careful when I take a shower!
That 220° will turn to 170° pretty quick if I turn the thermostat in the TV room up to 70°though.
