I ordered upgrade 110 btu for pocono

I just ordered the new 110 btu for my pocono, I really love how my 90 btu burned , but I am going to add a hot water coil , and on real cold windy days I could really use a couple extra btu's !!!!. I'm not sure how many btu's a hwc would use but I can't give up any and I already purchased it, so I figure the cost of propane for my hot water tank will justify the $250 for the 110 btu burner.I will update the progress when I get it installed and fired up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should be good, I don't think the hot water coil will use up too much BTU that would even be noteicable.

Hi Scotty, I added a HW coil to my 90K Keystoker last year and there was no noticable difference in the heat output or amount of coal being used. I think you will be ok.

wow this thing burns crazy !!!!!!!!! it's so hot u can't look at the burner !!!!! 750 degrees on the stove. I could get around 500 with the 90 btu burner . If u have a pocono this is well worth the $$ for this upgrade. The blower just powers the coal like ive never seen. it was 55 here doday but I couldn't wait to fire it up !!!!!!!!!! my wife looked at it and was scared compared the 90 btu that it was not safe , it's that big of a diff good job L.L. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny how we anthracite coal burners are looking forward to cold weather to see what our various appliances can do to keep us toasty.

Yes, I believe Scotty is doing the upgrade/retrofit on his.

I don't see them making one for the Pioneer. I always wondered why the pocono was only 90k the same as the Pioneer. I always thought the Pocono was more of a basement stove and deserved a little more horse power.

my pocono was one year old with the 90 btu in it. I just couldn't resist a bigger btu burner.It was a very easy install ,a no brainer. It's working great !!!!!!!!!!!! Happy me !!!!!!

I'm with you there, I would love to see an option of getting more BTU's out of my Pioneer.

At this time we have no plans to offer a 110K btu Pioneer, we would have to resubmit for UL testing first. as Gambler said the Pioneer is a living space stove and as such typically needs less btu's to satisfy the heating requirements.... but then again, depending on demand... who knows what we might do!

If i had to do over again i would have opted for the Pocono but there wasn't an upgrade available 3 years ago who would have known...I bet quite a few people would buy one here. I hope it happens mark me down for one ...
