I never drank scotch because I heard that for every bottle that's imported, the Kennedy's get cash off it. Don't know how true that is, but I'll be damned if I take that chance! ;)

Kennedy's suck!!

Yep, Stihl does NOT want ethanol in their engines. They know the destructive outcome already.

STA-BIL just came out with a new version just for ethanol. Yes, the marine-grade does work too as it contains dry-gas, but I think the new version is just for ethanol.

The need for dry gas is eliminated when using gasoline with ethanol added. They are both alcohol and mix with water.

I hear tell the local airport sells gas with no alcohol. $7is a gallon, but I'm thinking of checking into it for all my small engines.

Down here the airports won't sell to you - I tried that one in Warwick, NY (little airport). In Florida some of the remote marinas sell gas without ethanol and I jokingly said to one at Astor, Fl - I would like to fill the car. They said - if you can get the car onto the jetty. Knowing Maine where anything goes......

BTW, you know it is apparently illegal for road use.

Well, perhaps tomorrow I'll make a phone call. They used to sell to anyone, but I have not purchased from them in 6 or 8 years. Maybe things have changed. Why would it be illegal? It's still lead free.

No road use tax on airplane fuel. Down here in jersey the tax on gas is .47 per gal (fed&state)

I think it would be perfectly legal for your small engines. For on-road use in your car, it's a question of the taxes taxes taxes. Besides, you probably don't want to pay $7 per gallon for your car any sooner than you have to. I believe farms can buy gas for off-road equipment that doesn't have all the highway taxes included. The old farmer across the street from me, now ten years dead, had a big red gas tank by his equipment shed with an Agway sign on it. He confided to me once that it worked pretty well in his car, too.
 Wonder if anybody would be suspicious if my 21-inch walk-behind mower was using 20 gallons a week? :|

I have a 160 Gal gas tank on a small tower, my neighbor has one for diesel, I don`t know if it`s just the local oil Co. or all of them that put such a high delivery fee that the cost just about comes out the same. They are going to get you one way or the other, I offered my tank to an Ohio farmer for free & he said it`s cheaper for him to drive into town & load up his 5Gal cans than to get it delivered to him.
