Hi Freddy, This is great news!

Wait a minute, I hope you won't let this promotion limit the time you have available to design and construct ash pan covers and other vital coal stove accessories for us regular members . :D Seriously, this is a great choice in moderator! Lisa

I hope this won't take away from your comment time. What with the sheep. the hand feds, the undocumented weekend stove searches with your friends.....Perhaps now that the AA honeymoon is over, you can just enjoy her company and get on with more important things.

Has StokerScot approached you about the A-Dust fired Lobster Boat? I talked him out of Kenebec Kayak Memorial Stoker Race for future 'Stoker Heads', because it unfairly left out all the Hand-Fed folks. The proposed new name will be "The Kenebec Memorial Race for the Coal Addicted". Little steam powered cars, boats, trains etc and you can now be officially nominated as the 'Czar of Orrington'!

toothy :secret: :discuss: :dancing: :notworthy:  :eek2:

Congrats Fred! My Military years taught me to NEVER volunteer for anything. But "MODERATOR" has more letters in it than "MEMBER" and it sounds wayyyy cooler too! :D

Wow, thanks for all the kudos & well wishes...and I haven't done a thing! I hope & trust the need to moderate will be a rare thing. We're all a good bunch of humans & there's just not much refereeing to be done, but, if the need arises I hope to be cool headed and fair. Most of the time little disputes just need the people involved to "sit together with a moderator" and let common sense prevail. Of course if that doesn't work then the duct tape and pepper spray will!

If I hear of any coal related things happening in Maine I'll be sure to post about them, and, anyone, feel free to share any info pertaining to Maine that you stumble upon. Richard is very kind to give each state a special place. Thank you!

If that's what you want to do feel free, that's one of the reasons for these forums so you can discuss politics and other issues on a more local level. If the need arises in the future and there is real lot of interest in these forums I could even break them down into smaller sections like counties, or large areas...
