Well, a couple of weeks ago a few of us on the department were asked if we would be interested in becoming Assistant Chief. I said "sure".

Was told today that I got the job. :)

Just retired after 26 years with the Harrisonburg Fire Department (VA) as the Deputy Fire Marshal. Life member of my volunteer department with 32 years there.

Thanking my good friend, ffcuz, for getting me into coal.

Like him, I should have kept a diary of being an FM in a college town.

25+ years on a paid dept. of 562 members, now a district Major. Will be retiring in January 2016. Some days I feel like I've had enough, but I still enjoy it very much, its been a great career.
