Oh, yes, it's Saturrrrdayyyyyy! Coffee is strong and hot, it'll give the kick you need to do all of your Saturday projects.
Feels like it was a long week, I finished a large project and it feels good to get that one out the door.
They still haven't delivered my *new* stoker. Maybe I'll go pick it up this morning. Road trip! If not, maybe next week they'll happen to come this way. I'm anxious!
Thursday I went & had a stress test. Perhaps a good thing! Two months ago I started on high blood pressure meds. One thing led to anther and this week I end up on a treadmill with an EKG hooked up. Every 60 seconds they take your blood pressure. The first few times the nurse announced the pressure, after that she walked over and whispered it to the Dr. The test showed my heart is OK, but, I now am the proud owner of possibly the highest outpatient blood pressure ever recorded. They sent me directly from there to my regular Dr. She sent me from there to the pharmacy for new pills & told me to take one while at the counter. Sheesh! All this for 244 over 108. The new med seems to be working.
Hope you all have a smooth weekend! I've hired a mom-sitter and starting at noon today I'm taking my wife on a 24 hour vacation. The first vacation of more than an hour in 2 years.

Latah!

Morning Freddy, Coffee is good, probably do pancakes later this morning.

Got to get on the leave picking-up detail today. Hope to get it all done in one day.

Sheesh Freddy, You are the first person I have heard about with blood pressure as high as my wife's (208 over 126). She is alergic to sulfur so that leaves out all the cheap medicine. Hope you get that under control.

Good Morning,
Pretty chilly here this AM. Piling leaves today, lots of them. Stove is chugging away, keeping the house toasty. Careful of
Doctors Freddie, once they get to poking you and your insurance it is hard for them to stop!
Coffee is good and strong, house is quiet....peace.

Gonna have to put a couple 'Relax Relays' in your feed auger. Those BP #'s mandate a closer look at what is important in your life. How many cups a day do you 'enjoy'? Having a stroke isn't one of life's fonder memories, listen to the Docs, and take care of yourself!

PS: Blueberries are a GREAT antioxidant, keep plenty on your plate! :hammer: bop2 :eek2:  :notsure:

PPS: Morning! 24 here. nice sunrise! Enjoy your busy weekends!

Morning all,

The fire isn't doing so well this morning; too much hot air drifting over from the capital is messing up the draft. I'm very anxious to see how that vote goes or when that vote goes but I know I've done all I can to bring some sanity to my Congressional representatives so under my "fix it or forget it" philosophy I'll not let it bother me anymore today; maybe tomorrow but not today. :D

It's not good for my blood pressure. Sorry to hear you're on the "pill" Freddy but seriously you will start to feel better after feeling not so hot for who knows how long. I know from experience that the current first choice in BP pills is mega expensive - that's the one my doctor goes to first because..? - Anyway I did some research and found a generic that works for me for a lot less; 7 bucks a month versus $50. It's lisinopril-hctz. Once I brought it to his attention he was more then happy to let me try it for a month to see how it did work - no difference between the two for me. Obviously, it's been a major boost to my wallet. You may want to ask him about it.

I’m waiting for one of the kids to wake up so I can “bribe” them with breakfast out to accompany me to the hardware store for a hack saw blade. They say I bribe them to go on my errands with me because I don’t like going places by myself but actually they don’t yet realized that it insures I get at least a couple of hours of one on one time, front seat time with what ever child every week. Today I am going to finish installing my manometer. I went yesterday and got the piece of brake line I needed. It's not what I expected but it's not the first or I'm sure the last time I envisioned something wrong. I know I want a draft somewhere around .02 or .03 as shown on the manometer but how does that relate to the numbers on the baro? Right now I have that set at .06 and it's moving just a little bit unless there is a gust of wind or something. Can anyone help me see this relationship clearer? My stove pipe temp is right where I think it should be, about 100 to 150* degrees less then the stove top but I could be wrong on that, too. Any clarification will be appreciated. Oh, yeah I plan to put this on the wall about 3 ft higher then the horizitonal stove pipe, will that make a difference in the accuracy of the reading? Or should it be on the same level? Have a great day! Lisa

Kinda early for me , couldn't sleep. Coffee is hot and strong , just the way I like it. Dam Freddy thats some serious pressure. You better mellow out and get it under control. I can get AD (google it) and it can kill me. Had it once , my pressure was 218-195. I thought my head was going to explode from the pain , like in one of those cartoons , scray stuff. Those reading get you into heart attack or stroke. Your low side probaly helped keep that away. Get one of those BP readers at wallyworld and keep an eye on it.

I'm at work as usual. I'll do at least 5hrs. Maybe 10 if I feel up to it. I have to say I'm liking this stove coal. I used to burn chestnut but decided to see how stove would work. There's something amusing about filling the stove by placing a dozen chunks in. :D Not bad after 12 hours. Idles well and if I ever have to melt steel, I know I can do that too. Everyone enjoy your day. I'll be doing all my chores tomorrow! EDIT: Just got asked. I'll be here until 3. That's enough for a Saturday

Good morning, even though the day is half over for guys like Freddy. Stay well, man, glad you get medical care.
I had the windowstats open the last couple of nights, gave up on my firebox reduction plan for now. Clay thimbles just disintegrate on the grate. Might spring for more firebricks. Would really like to find a piece of industrial ss thick wall 9"pipe. Finished painting a customer's house last week, and got the garage floor debacle completed. Bled my brakes yesterday and got most of the ever so compressable air out of the lines. The brake pedal gives me my grade: B- it seems. Maybe I'll run a little more paint-bubbling brake fluid through the system and see if any more tiny bubbles come out.
I spent way too much time absorbing the media coverage of the tragic events of the past couple days. I need to keep the damn TV off today.
Just hadda coupla cups of Maxwell House, and have to go get my ladders. The annoying din of leaf blowers is coming through the walls as the surrounding suburban McMansions lawns are being cleared.

Wow Freddy... At least you have insurance. I'm just winging it for the forseeable future - if something happens I won't be able to afford the hospital trip. Wouldn't be the first time. Oh well such is life.

Hit a balmy 25* this morning. Still on oil - could hear the boiler firing every 10 minutes all night long just to maintain 60* in here. I figure I'll get used to the cold now, rather than lighting up early ... getting used to the warmth ... then freezing my ass off when I run out of coal mid February! It's tough, but I'm holdin' out till Dec. 1st.... :hangover:

Well, we had a 24 hour vacation. Nice! Hired someone to mom-sit & we took off. Went & picked up the Reading coal stove, then spent the night at a Motel. Ate out, went & saw "Men that stare at goats"...it was good!... Slept in. It's the first vacation over an hour long in over 2 years. Ahhhh, let's do that more often!

Blood pressure... I was taking lisinopril for 2 months. It obviously wasn't working! So, went from the $6 a month to a $154 a month..."Coreg".... so far so good. We take my blood pressure a couple times a day. Since the new drug, it's been OK. Thanks for all the concern!

Freddy, glad to hear you got a mini-vacation. Aren't they nice? :D

Wow! What a beautiful day today! After church, I went to a nieghbor's house with my trailer, and shoveled 2 tons of Stove/nut(?) into 5 gal buckets and carried them up a set of stairs, then down a set of stairs, then 100ft to the driveway. Good day for getting FREE coal! It was in the basement for 30 years, but is REALLY shiney and hard, looks like black-Ice. The owner forgot where he bought it from. Heres some pics of half of it.
What do you think.... Superior? Deep-Mined?

Hey Chris< I hate to rain on your parade but that is NUT coal not stove coal. You might get two pieces of stove in your palm, but those definitely look like nut. Hey don't look a gift horse in the mouth. :D :D :) ;)   :junmp: :dancing:
