Duct outside air to stoker blower cover?

Would it help to prevent out fires by having outside air vented into the cover of the stoker blower with the bottom of the cover seal. Could cut a hole in the side of the cover for the duct work.

Look inside your blower housing from the outside. Is the fan turning in a CCW direction?

Is the crank one the gearbox turning in a CW direction?

Is the crank turning 29 RPM per minute?

All should be true.

Unless you are drastically in a vacuum, your outfires aren't caused by lack of fresh air. Set the aquastat at 140 low and 190 high and see what happens.

Time the timer. How many minutes per half hour?

I increased the timer slightly to 3min and 20sec, and low set to 160 and high set to 205 with diff set to 10. I was working fine with lower settings for all last year, so don't know what changed other than different coal supplier.

I measure -0.04 draft on oil this afternoon, and between -0.03 and -0.04 on coal with blower running tonight. I turned off the blower (after running), and the draft is still at least -0.03. I am not sure what the draft is when its cooler.

.03 at the door or at the breech? Barely adequate at the breech.

What is the best method to measure the draft at the door?

Same way. Hook the hose to a piece of pipe and insert it through the hole in the door.

Measured the draft through the metal door, and it appears to be -0.01 without the coal burning since it went out again today. I opened the basement slider door, and it went up to -0.03. I'll put a hole in the boiler room to the outside, and see if this helps.
