I'm going to guess 3/4 ton since the second week in Oct. I can only guess as I can't see in my bin yet. Last year in weather like this I was burning about 35 to 40 pounds a day.

Pulled up my #2 oil use spread sheet started in 2004.

Oct-2004 was paying 1.72 gallon.
May-2008 peak of 4.09 gallon............went shopping for a coal stove!

Oil at $1.63 per gallon is my break even point per BTU, so I'm happy to burn at the earliest opportunity.

Been burning little over 1 year straight so I can't say how much since Oct! Got 6 ton delivered $160/ton in the summer and the bin is about full level now, was over flowing a lot. I don't seem to be running much except the timer, maybe in the morning it kicks on a bit. Thermostat is set at 70, upstairs is 2-3 degrees colder. Taking out 1 full ash can a week. I do go down the basement once a day to be sure all is ok, fire is burning, manometer reading ok, belts are still there and look to see if anything that moves needs oiling. I swear, the only day I skipped checking up on it last year, I had problems, baro was stuck or something.

I started burning on November 5th and am averaging 20-25 lbs/day. It has really been unseasonably warm here, so we're just idling along.

Been burning about 75#/day heating the house to a balmy 75°F and the garage taking the residual heat from the boiler. Was under my house the other night and it must have been at least 80°F down there. That's why my floors are staying warm I guess.

Compared to you guys it's a lot of coal. Just got my manometer yesterday so I'll get that hooked up tonight and check the draft.

Mind you this is running 140°F back and forth to my house 24/7 so now I'm rethinking my plan on that. I may just buy a timer for the boiler, a strap on aquastat for the water line and set it up to only circulate upon T-stat call.

Hmmm..from $8.50/day to $5.00/day sure would make a large difference over the course of a winter. Then again it's really nice to have warm floors like normal houses do and it's hard to believe how constant that heat is from having spent my entire life with FHA heat.

1320 lbs for November.

2 shuts downs due to electrical interruption (last one was a tree that fell on a power line and caught on fire up the road).

Need to get a on the ball and make the battery backup connections.

I've been up & running since last Saturday at 19:00hrs. So far I've gone through 8.5 40lb. bags of Blashak. VERY happy with that -- last winter I was burning nearly 2 50lb bags per day!

I think the Kimmels I got last year was crappy quality. Using alot less this year, & have longer burn times to boot. 8-)

Total estimated amount used since July 1st is 3,344 lbs. July, August, and September was for hot water, a little heat in October and more heat through November. The burning has increased significantly lately.

Two ton as of yesterday. I've been burning since Nov. 5. Cost per ton was 170 and my house is a very cozy 75+ degrees. Go coal!

Almost half a ton. But that is only because I had planned on burning wood. Next year, I hope it's different. I hope to burn mostly coal while burning a little bit of wood... We'll see.
