Reporting Problems with the Website

What's the possibility of running your own server? I know some people who do it on file sharing networks. I would think on a cable connection it wouldn't be too bad. You don't need a heavy duty CPU for this sort of thing.

The server has plenty of power and I'd rather keep the task of maintaining it to someone that knows what they are doing. A cable connection unless it was much more expensive business plan than what I'm paying now wouldn't even begin to have the bandwidth I need anyway. ;)

Right now I'm VPS which is one step below dedicated machine. I host 9 domains from it. ;) There might be 15 or so others like me on same box but they balance the load to make sure everyone has enough resources. Current rate for similar box is in the $500 a month range if I wanted the whole thing. 2X Quad core XEON processors to start with and by looking at CPU it's apparent it doesn't get used much so I basically have $500/month machine at my disposal. I have other limitations like bandwidth and RAM that would be much greater with $500 box but I don't need it...

Patch wrote:My loading problem appears to be computer specific. At 7:30 am it was working fine, then around 10:00 am, it stopped loading the forum. Tried another computer, ..... and it's loading. Problem machine is running Win2000 (and I ain't updating), this laptop is running XP. Maybe OS related? The Win2000 machine functions normally on other web sites. Back to work.

Win 2000 is a good stable platform. I like it for work machines. I doubt your issues are OS related. Maybe a different version of IE or another browser like FireFox or Chrome?

I am also having a very slight problem...I now continually have to login manually instead of having the site remember to log me in automatically. And yes, I do check off the "log in/remember me" question.
Maybe I lost my cookies......ok I'm already over my head in geek speak.

Cookie is probably corrupt, try clicking the "delete cookies" link down in the lower left. If that doesn't help let me know.

Start a new topic for new troubles thanks.

I had hoped they had this issue resolved because it's been up for 4 days which is some kind of record if you ant to look at last 3 weeks. I'm seriously considering moving to new server, possibly fully dedicated. :D

Logging in or the page not loading? It's two separate issues.

If you are having problems logging in I have new topic for it here: I keep Getting Logged Out

Post in that thread if you can't fix it.

Yep, I lost it at 17:12. Didn't get the page to refresh until now (18:50), but I didn't try for the last 30 minutes.
