Reporting Problems with the Website

I've had pages not load also. My solution is after a few seconds of waiting to stop loading the page and then hit the reload button. That always quickly loads the page. It seems to me NEPA Crossroads is simply not responding to the URL request.

I read all the posts on the forum. OK, not all in detail but I do look at all of them. That requires a different browsing technique. I use Firefox tabbed browsing. I first select the "new posts" icon. Then using the middle mouse button I open a new browser tab windows for all the posts. This requires moving the mouse to each orange icon and center mouse clicking. Each full "new posts" page will have 30 icons. This means I will have 30 new pages loaded quickly. My observation is that the total load time is less this way then loading them one or a few at at time. I suspect it's because of the transmission protocol, my connection to the server once established stays open for some time after the page finishes loading, then the additional requests are simply tacked on to the same open port. Once all 30 pages are loaded, less than a minute for my DSL line, they are resident in my computer's memory. Then just using the control tab or control W keys allows me to quickly look through all of them. Give it a try. I don't think the same is possible in Microsoft's IE. My OS is Win2000 with Firefox 3.5.6 I do seem to miss some of the thirty at times. But a later "new posts" page will include the missing posts and any new ones. Works well for me.

I try that for 30 minutes, every 5 minutes. For me, refreshing/reloading does not cure the issue.

Anyone else still getting this?

"The connection has timed out
The server at nepacrossroads.com is taking too long to respond."

If I click "reload button" it loads the page.
It's happened 3 times in the last couple days. Not a big deal but just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or maybe it's on my end. Using FF 3.5.7

As of right now it's been up continuously for 17 days and 5 hours however I did see some errors with too many connections in last check of logs. The server will only respond to X amount of requests simultaneously so if there is lot of requests in a very short time you might get some slow responses. It shouldn't time out though.

Yeah, I was worried we were loosing the site last week. I had a couple timeouts last week, but refreshed the page and immediately got a response. I got a timeout while trying to "View More Smilies" also. Refreshed the page, and it opened normally.
