I grow weary of the "correctness" dance. Sad but it is NATION wide. As long as some whack job has the time and money
to pursue legal redress for lunatic fringe separation innuendo , it will never end. Maybe tort reform would be able to quell some
of the lunacy. God forbid ( can I say God anymore?) somebody may actually look at a seasonal display, and gasp, have ANY
thought at all ! Santa Clause now, pumpkins next! Bunch of Fun Suckers Until we are all zoned out dolts, there will be no
peace.

We had one of these go-rounds last year locally. In the end the principal had no back bone and walked away after the school year was over. Pretty sad state of affairs when one set of parents can push their way through teh majority's objections.

Why does a public school have a "school holiday gift shop" under any circumstances?

The job of the schools is to educate the kids.

Perhaps if the schools actually focused on education then the kids might actually become educated.

It's probably just a school store that becomes a "holiday" store this time of year. Most schools around here have one. For what purpose, I do not know. But we should be calling Christmas CHRISTMAS irregardless.

I agree with Eric on this one. public schools shouldn't be in the business of setting up gift shops etc, if you want that, send your child to private school. Unfortunately though, the anti-christian bias in many public schools is alarming and pervasive so it's not surprising that emotions get heated around christmas, after all, it is "christmas break" (of course in many places it's changing to "winter break" that just happens to fall during christmas )

I totally hear what your saying. However, if they are going to have it at least allow something festive. Nothing too red or green, no Santa or Jesus? Really? I'll bet they'd soil themselves if the Muslums wanted to have their stuff in the store.The PC police have gotten way out of hand IMHO.
