The only difference is, we're seeing INCREASED TAXES across the board - NOT a $3,200 total REFUND from the gov't.

Smitty, taking someone elses profits and redistributing them to the citizens is NOT a tax refund.

Yes, its more like a rental agreement. :)

OK so we can agree that Alaska is just as socialistic as Massachusetts. :D

She had three choices.

1. She could have cut taxes on the oil companies to promote growth. This is classic conservatism.

2. She could have done nothing. Left the status quo alone.

3. She could raise taxes and milk every dime out of industry she could so she could redistribute that money to voters to up her popularity.

She chose option 3, the most left leaning of the the options.

I grant you her social conservative credentials are fine. But she does not have a fiscally conservative record.

The state ownership of resources is socialism.

If you are such a history buff, cite a challenging interview that Obama did prior to the election; One where he had to answer tough and unscripted questions and where he really was original and substantial. He doesn't even have that to his credit. Also, He didn't even have the guts to face Fox.

When will Palin get interviewed by Olbermann?

Did I ask you the question, Erik?

1. Mind your own questions

2. I wanted to set up Jon since he's always challenging me and then, if he remembered, I wanted to ask why Obama hasn't done one since. Was he scared off? If it was so good for Obama, why stonewall Fox now? Obama simply didn't face difficult questioning repeatedly by the press as did Hillary and others. They questioned Palin more than they questioned McCain or Obama. The press is biased. Obama got a free ride. That is the point.

3. Thanks for answering questions directed at others, Erik. You are a fine moderator.

The use of state resources requires compensation to the state (the people) to ensure the equitable private use of collectively held resources. Substantial state surpluses require redistribution to the people because the state is not an enterprise for the accumulation of wealth or cash. While that may sound like socialism to some, it clearly is not. The state land and mineral rights were never privately owned in the first place. Socialism/communism implies the take over of private production properties.

No, Mike, the point is that you are almost never accurate in your many and prolix assertions. You easily could have asked why Obama only did one interview with Fox.

But you didn't. You wrote,
He didn't even have the guts to face Fox.

You were wrong, it's been proved, and you're not man enough to admit it. Or is it the "guts?"

I'd say "nice try" but it wasn't. It was your usual smokescreen.

Regardless of her views, qualifications & popularity in some circles..... the fact that she quit her job as Alaska governor is something she could never explain away/overcome in any Presidentail general election. She's done,as a serious candidate for any high national office in this country...imo.

One of the last times I can remember her as Gov. she was in front of a mic saying Washington you can keep your stimulus moneylus money , Alaska doesn`t need it or want it. Then shortly after she quit I was watching a report on the stimulus money & where it has gone so far & guess what Alaska was either one of the top recievers or the top. One of the main projects was a airport for a village up there & they couldn`t find one resident that said they needed it. It cost well over a Million /resident, they had a grass field & hardly ever used that.

Rich indeed, I'm glad you got your jollies out of it. The reason you despise her is what she represents, that is what you really hate. It must be killing you.

She will never be a serious candidate for this very reason.
