I'm cleaning up and organizing the basement today because...
The Hyfire II is coming on Tuesday!!!
We'll be a two stoker household. The Reading Lehigh handles the ell and the kitchen, the Hyfire II will handle the main house.
I've also got two pallets of Blaschak in the driveway that need to move into the coal bin under the kitchen.

Morning all. Just finished cleaning up the kitchen after making breakfast today (finally got to sit down). It was a real diner here today. I made french toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, homemade hashbrowns, eggs over easy, scrambled eggs and toast. Everyboby wanted something different this morning. No coffee for me or my family. I am evjoying a "Coke". Going to the back of the property today to make sure my deer stand is ready to go for next week. I have not hunted for 2 years but my 9yr old son (today is his birthday) wants to go hunting with me this year.
No, CIFFEE is short for Irish CoffeeSMITTY wrote:Ciffee ............ that's the one with the meth in it right?
Check out the ABS system....
Now to find out why metal shavings are flying out of the passenger-side wheel on the GMC with decent brakes ....

The wife failed to mention that the trucks brakes had been squealing for the last month and a half -- the wear warning tabs -- when I could have just slapped a set of pads in there. Now here I am $150 later with new front rotors & front/rear pads!
Have a looky at this!!

it happens. I guess she now knows what sqealing brakes mean
My wife once drove 20 miles, and wondered why the BRAKE light was on(clue #1). She put her foot on the brakes and they felt fine, but wondered why the engine was downshifting so much all the way to the store(clue #2). At the store's parking lot, she wondered why the rear wheels were beltching smoke(Clue #3) Rear wheels were not smoking when she got done shoping, so SHE DROVE ALL THEY WAY HOME! But theres that pesky little red lite on the dash again, hmmmmm, what could that BRAKE lite mean????
It meant about $200 in new pads and discs, and oh yeah, CHECK YOUR EMERGENCY BRAKE NEXT TIME.
One time she complained there was a WHOOOSHING noise coming from the glove box area, when she went over 50MPH. I drove her car, with her in the passenger seat, to check it out. Sure enough, as we got over 50MPH she said "Hear that???? What is that noise?????" I knew what it was, and just reached down to the power window button, and rolled up the passenger door window! It had been down about 1/2" At least that one didn't cost us anything.

My wife drove about 5 miles home with the oil light on. Flashing on and off, she said, but I suspect more on than off. Then she called me at work to ask about it. I said, don't drive it any more until I look at it. I should have said, don't go within 100 feet of it, it might explode and kill everybody in the neighborhood. Because she didn't DRIVE it, but she did start it up several times over the course of the afternoon, "to see if it had fixed itself."

Hey! I think the ciffee is gone....anyone up for an evening coffee?
Brakes! The new rotors will be nice....hope they stay that way!
Once upon a time we had a brand new Cutless Supreme. We were just getting home from a 200 mile trip when we noticed a bad smell coming from the car in front of us. After following him a half mile we turned onto our road, and. uh oh, the smell came with us! The anti lock computer told one of the rear brakes that it should stay on. When we pulled in the yard BIG smoke rolled out from under the rear fender. I could see the rotor was RED. It got towed to the dealer. Mind you, this vehicle has less than 1,000 miles on it. By the time it was repaired the entire read assembly was replaced. Suspension parts, bearings, ball joints, struts, it was crazy the damage done. Within 1,000 limes of that we were left stranded for a different reason. They lemon law'd the car without us asking. The next one wasn't much better. As a matter of fact, in 9 months we drove three different brand new GM products and the third one we left at the dealer. We went & got a used Ford Taurus after that.

Picked up a Harman MARK 2 today for free. Yes free. Those things are quite heavy, took both doors off, blower motor, shaker handle then strapped it to the hand truck. Up 8 carpeted steps, fun. People bought the house and wanted it out of the basement. When I got it home to the garage, took out the firebrick, took the feet off and the grates out, now I can at least move it somewhat. I have never seen one first hand before and these are built like a tank. Thing is, I don't know what I am going to do with it. Needs paint and that is about all. If I leave it in the garage, I will need some sort of chimney and have to remove all the gas, premix, etc that is in there. If I put it in the basement as a backup next to the AA130, chances are I will never need it, though it does burn pea coal. May sell it or trade for ?? Haven't decided yet.

Oh man I guess I'm not the only one who deals with this kinda stuff!
Well I picked up a set of pads for the front & rear, plus a new set of rotors -- the old ones weren't even close: Said limit was 27.5mm, they mike'd at .99" which I converted to 25.1mm if I remember right ... the other rotor wasn't scored at all & that was at 25.7mm! JUNKAAAH!!
And of course, as luck would have it, I got to NAPA at 2:40 ... & they close at 3 ..... so I fought with this unbelievably moronic design that GM came up with for a braking system , & by the time I went in & ate, had a few beers & started on the other side ....... I open A COMPLETELY SEALED PACKAGE with a rotor that was about 50% surface rust (like a worker spilt his tea on it in Hong Kong), then sure enough ..... IT WON'T FIT!! Had correct NAPA part #'s, but the numbers on the box were different. NAPA is closed until Monday ...... hahaahaaa wouldn't ya know it!! Never fails!!
Yeah I hate to be rippin' on the ladies, but DAMN ...... sometimes.... you know ....franco b wrote:Shocking sexist posts.
You should feel the Mark III! VERY heavy ... especially when there's only 2 guys lowering it down questionable stairs ...mozz wrote:.....Those things are quite heavy,......

Should have got a Honda. You can drive them without oil. Just ask my wife.Freddy wrote:Within 1,000 miles of that we were left stranded for a different reason.
