feed rate????

i have a leisure line stove with the coal tron controller..the burn seems to be high on the tray there about 5in ash on the tray..burning coal seems to close to the feeder...what adjustment needs to be done to move the burn closer to the bottom of the tray and how do i make thes adjustments on the controller...i have lost the instructions for the controller..thx for any help

If it's on Idle, that is about right, it will burn on the back part of the plate towards the feeder and burn farther forward as you increase the heat output (Temp). You can increase the MIN a bit (Maybe 8 or 10) to see if that helps, but the normal setting for the LL are MIN 6 and max 40.

it has been pretty warm, so its been running on idle for a few weeks now..gonna be colder this week will see if working harder moves the burn down..thx for the reply

it will always start at the top, close to the feeder, you will just have a wider band of burning coal at a higher feed rate

here a good pic of a Hyfire at or about idle, you can see how high up the plate it's burning, that is about normal.
