Make sure the thermostat cord is connected securely on both ends. Aside from a problem in the thermostat, the only thing that makes sense is that there is an intermittent connection.
If that doesn't fix it up, please contact the shop (315-299-3589) to arrange for a warranty replacement/repair. Normally we'd recommend going through the normal warranty process with your stove dealer, but this is a fairly unique problem. We'd like to get a look at the thermostat to see whats up.

Keep in mind, when it loses power the time will stop advancing until power is returned. If it is off for a couple hours it is possible the power loss ride through will maintain the prior time setting until power is restored. At some point, though, the ride through will run out of backup power and the time setting will reset to default (only SETUP or Advanced menu option that resets to default on extended power loss is the time/day setting).
Are you sure it the Coal-trol/stove isn't losing power? Is the fire going out when the time loss occurs?

Was good for a couple of days, We have not lost power at all. Today its about 5 minutes faster then yesterday. I have an atomic clock that I set it to that runs on batteries that were changed 2 weeks ago. I will keep you posted.

That's very odd. The time keeping should be very good since we clock the control off of the frequency of the AC power supply (necessary to provide reliable speed control on 50 and 60 hz power). If it is losing or gaining time...
Are you running the Coal-trol off a UPS or a power inverter setup? Any kind of AC power filtering or conditioning?

Well, it is up to you. If you want to send it in for warranty repair/replacement contact Ed or Neil at 315-299-3589. If it is working otherwise and you can tolerate the time issue, then hold onto it until you're done using it for the season.
