Refrigerator Quit

I think it's a GE, the box itself never recieved any water that I can see. It all wicked down the wires into the breakers themselves. You know a breaker has an issue when it has a brown stain running out of the face of it. :roll:

I had the same issue.... water was running down the large piece of Ox4 romax pigtail, from the powermeter to the CB main. Really rusted out a lot of breakers and they would trip with the slightest load. I installed all new, and while the meter was off, I caulked up the new pigtail and the top of the new Meter mount. That cured the leaking issues permanently.

Just for giggles, do a Google search on Federal-Pacific breakers ...... turns out I'm lucky to still have a house!

I am a square d guy for the most part QO no homeline tho.....

the 5 family has 5 FPE's all with 25 yr old breakers and have replace 1 out of over 100 of them

clean dry warm location and tight connections is the answer and luck!!!

UPDATE! The new, new refrigerator will be here Monday. The new one had a glacier creeping out of the freezer wall and an ice maker that sounded like one of those thingies that turns a car into shreds of steel. The fan sounded like it had walnut shells in it too.

Oh yeah, and the dishwasher had a hinge break. :roll:

I'm starting to think the place is haunted by the Maytag repair guy.

I hear the original Maytag repair guy was fond of lays potato chips...maybe you can bribe him?
