Hello,
I have been reading this forum for several weeks now and have learned much about the benefits of anthracite. My previous knowledge of hard coal was based only upon the Lackawanna Railroad advertisements. I have always wanted to burn coal, but do not believe that my neighbors would appreciate the aroma of soft coal.
My question: while going through the forum, I have found a few sources of truckload delivery to my area, however, since I am new to this, I thought it would be good to try a pallet or two first. Where or who might I contact if I wanted to order a pallet or two and have it shipped by a less-than-truckload carrier? I do realize this would be significantly more expensive on a per ton basis. I would prefer not to pick it up, and I have access to commercial loading docks so unloading would not be an issue. I do not as yet have a stove, but would be looking for nut or stove size coal. I am located at the bottom of Ohio, between Kentucky and West Virginia, zip 45680.
Thank you, this is an excellent source of knowledge on the coal burning experience.
Looking for Pallets of Bagged Coal in Southern Ohio.

I suppose that I should have worded my question differently, as I am not looking for a supplier near me, but for a company that bags coal somewhat near the mines, and just would be willing to load a pallet or two onto a LTL carrier. In other words are there any companies besides the ones with dealers that sell bagged coal by the pallet that may be willing to load onto a third party carrier.....Are there any companies that may be willing to do this?
Thank you,
