Can anyone please tell me the weight of a 55 gallon drum filled with rice coal?
Trying to find a way to place 4 drums on a pallet and use a pallet jack to fill them at the window and then move them out of the way until I need them.
It would certainly be easier to have the rice coal delivered in bulk......now I am making 5 trips (one ton per trip) with my pickup truck and lumping into the basement.
Any ideas or help???

Thank you....Len

A good start is 400 lbs or about 1 ton for every 5 drums. Check this area of board:

5 gallons is about 38-40 so figure about 440 lbs.

Yeah mozz is right, my barrel was almost empty today so I slid it off the auger and emptied out the fines and little bit of coal and re filled it with a 5 gallon lowes bucket, took 11 bucket fulls, roughly 38-40 each bucket full. so maybe 418 on the lite side and 440 at the very most

Chuck Norris benches two 55's on his all-man bar and says 400 each is a safer guess. He eats a few mouthfuls before grunting one out, so add a smidgen for snacks!
