I have one and have been burning it for about 30 years. It is a fantastic stove. I am looking to buy one in excellent condition since mine is getting old. I burn about two tins of nut coal a year, which is readily available here in Rhode Island. Mine is in my kitchen area, and during the winter it is always burning. Jotul made a great stove with this model and I cannot understand why they stopped making them. I missed one onebay that was never fired. The auction ended the day before I saw it. Yes, you can burn wood in it, but the wood has to be cut in short lengths. Not really a good wood stove, but a great coal stove. Good luck with it.
Top door is where you put coal in. Middle door has a cast iron removable barrier that keeps the coal in, but can be lifted out to empty clinkers. bottom door is access to empty ash pan.
Good luck with your 507.
