PC Based Central Temp/Humidity Monitor?

PC Based Central Temp/Humidity Monitor?

PostBy: Carlos On: Sat Dec 05, 2009 5:17 pm

I'm trying to devise a way of displaying multiple room temps & humidity that I can monitor from my PC. Anyone know of such a system that would have multiple sensors to scatter around the house but monitor from my PC?
Thanks

Kinda but to rich for my blood!

I was hoping to find cheaper sending units that would be wireless so I could locate them all over the house.

Closest i could find is this
http://dormmom.com/Grocery/product.aspx?ASIN=B0013542IM
Not computer based & the extra remote is a little pricey but it'll do the job.

I saw that too but it seems most complaints aren;'t important to me. (no memory feature, etc)
I took a chance an actually did order it from Amazon with one additional sensor.

Keep me updated i want to know if you like it. i am looking for something similar. How many rooms can you monitor at one time, and what did you pay for it, if you dont mind me asking

I tried to copy & paste but this is all I got:

Frequently Bought Together
Customers buy this item with Oregon Scientific THGR122NX Wireless Temperature/Humidity Sensor Oregon Scientific
+
Price For Both: $89.04

That was for the unit itself & one extra sending unit. (that will give me 3 indoor & one outdoor reading unless I use the outdoor one upstair somewhere. (I alrfeady have enough outdoor thermmeters)
Should be here by 12/15 & I'll post my thoughts (the ad says you can monitor up to 4 separate indoor locations plus the outdoor one. (means you'd be spending $90.00 for the extra remotes though)

Just got it yesterday & I like it! I even sent for another remote sensor which will then give me outdoor temp + four indoor temp/humidity readings.
(btw.....the outdoor sensor was in the living room & the bedroom temp sensor hasn't been installed yet...so the readings on the monitor are not accurate in this pic)

I printed the sensor locations on a little Brother label printer. The unit comes with a few plastic blanks for locations but you have to make your own labels.
