Claiming that there were Congressional hearings is rather disingenuous, dontchya think?
The Senate passed a non-binding resolution for McCain. To say there were hearings is lying. The original bill was sponsored by the Democratic Senator from Missouri, Claire McCaskill. Senator Barack Obama signed on as a co-sponsor. The bill itself never made it out of committee because it would have impacted other immigration issues unrelated to presidential eligibility. So, the non-binding SR511 resolution was quickly put together and passed pretty much without comment to make everyone feel better about themselves.
