Contrary to popular belief that a declining population would be a good thing,
history and logic shows that loss of population is a death spiral for civilizations.
Russia will loose half of it's population in the next fifty years if it continues down
it's current path. If not for immigration, Europe would be in the same boat.
Lose of population doesn't mean more for the rest of us, it means lose of demand,
declining home prices, lose of job growth, etc. It's one of those feel good ideas that
just doesn't pan out like you would think.
If you belong to a Church, just imagine that the congregation called for one child families.
Within two generations, your Church would be diminished by half and on the way out.
I keep our family genealogy and I can attest to that fact that our family tree is on it's
way to the wood stove. My Mother's side of the family is already done.
Just something to think about.
