Natural gas well, Carnage probably got some land and is now sitting there making the big bucks. I heard he is offering to throw big party this summer for free.
That's Powers Stone's well. They already have millions but wanted to add to the wealth. It's about 2 miles from me.Richard S. wrote:Natural gas well, Carnage probably got some land and is now sitting there making the big bucks. I heard he is offering to throw big party this summer for free.
Also I'm not the one with lots of land that just quit a good job and bought a stoker stove company. I haven't been over to South Town but maybe I'll take a ride and see if there are any wells near the airport.

"April Showers"... er April hail ? Then a couple days or so later this bird was in our back yard, maybe the hail had something to do with it?
I believe the bird is a Black-Crowned Night-Heron.

Photo's of PA's history, eh? Ok let me lay out one of my favorite 'haunts', pun intended. If ya ever go up past Indian town gap to Blue Mountain there's an overlook. Many bird watchers, etc, just ignore them and turn into the woods. The drive up is horrendous by the way. Go slow, don't fall off the edge, lots of bumps and holes that require 1mph speeds.
You are now at the old location, and can still see the foundation, of the Brandt Hotel. This is where the "Blue Eyed Six" met to conspire the murder of Joseph Raber in in 1879.

They say it's haunted, the whole area. Many odd suicides and odd sightings around there since, and the original church foundation is rumored to be under guard 24/7. Yes it's on the military base, but why would a church foundation be under such guard? All this plays well into the mysterious haunting tale of the "Blue Eyed Six".
There's a palpable uneasiness in the air up there, very interesting place. Here's a few pics of the site as it stands today.
Steps and foundation of Brandt Hotel
Old bath house at hotel. Seemingly they just put a tub between the walls. Tub gone, walls remain.
Old well pump for town, pipes intact!

In the forksville area, 2nd Friday of Rifle Season.
Look close at the 2nd one and see if you can find the Buck. I took that one behind my plant in West Hazleton
