What the hell is gonna change? So now all of our tax money will go for bickering among the parties and do nothing to pull down the debt. We in trouble! 200 yrs of writing law and they still can't define sex, they still can't help people in a crisis, they can't make any jobs, they can't make cheap energy, damn maybe we have to start relying on ourselves again.

As you learned in MA, a lot can change quickly so while this win is quite a win  for your side, you probably shouldn't let it be the bellwether towards November.

Complacency is precisely why my side lost. Coakley ran a horrible campaign. I imagine the strategy of Brown's campaign that compared him to JFK in tv ads while rarely mentioning he was a republican and adopting the Yes We Can slogan of the Obama campaign will be studied by many between now and November 2010.

There are no sure things...
But I liked the direction he took...
Now if he can help put Washington on a diet...
And bring some common sense to the Senate...
That would be a good role model...

No, your side lost because you tried to ram something down our throats and we finally had enough of the BS. True patriots stood up and stopped it. We won't stop now; all ready the mice like Jim Webb are jumping ship. Just watch, Lisa

Very good observation. So without political impairity, it sounds like 52% of the people in Mass. have common sense.

And the other 48%? This race was won and lost HERE, the characters unique to MA. No doubt all kinds of
frustration and anger over the general state of affairs nationwide but that does not mean a sweep across country.
There could be, but as the lawyers like to say........your results may vary.

Just watched him on the news with Caustic Couric an he is not an empty suit. She tried to bait him and he handled it very well. They voted for an excellent individual it would seem.

Here's a lib who still doesn't get it. Better review the facts on the ground little missy. Your side lost because they were arrogant enough to think they could force this "whorendous" health care bill on Americans even though by a 70% margin we didn't want it. This was nothing more than a rejection of that arrogance.

I am not sure it was all about health care alone but the arrogance was in full evidence. But the test will be keeping up the drive towards more conservative policy in other states over time. And not going crazy with the religious right wingers driving independants out with calls for a reverse jihad. Slow and steady, get this country back on track, away from socialism.
