Good, Terry, so you agree that neither LTC West nor Boehner got it right.
Boehner quoted the "Preamble" to the Declaration of Independence instead of the Constitution. West mistook the preamble of the Constitution for its substance, which I quoted verbatim above.
Trouble with all you tin-foil hatters is that, in your frenzy to pay less taxes, you can't find the framework of our nation with both hands. Nor can you see the great benefits which you reap from the gov't you so despise. What country are you guys from, anyway?
Example: how many of you can remember the days before Medicare? I mean, when people retired and went broke and/or died quickly of sickness because they no longer had any healthcare of any sort. Just as Thomas Paine recognized in his time, that was and is simply unacceptable. And, if you still think Medicare is some "demon socialist program," please, please, vote to take it away
(so we can rid of your ilk as a political force for the indefinite future).
Finally, if you don't see the similarity between Medicare and the "Medicare buy-in," or the "public option," you're not half as smart as you think you are.
